From the floodplain to your plant, with no middlemen
Tribo Superfoods does not buy from middlemen. Since 2022, our sourcing base has been cooperatives of small family farmers in Igarapé-Miri, Pará.
The açaí market has a traceability problem
Most pulp suppliers buy from regional distributors who buy from other distributors — without knowing the exact origin. That puts the risk on you: without traceability there is no proof of origin, and without proof of origin you cannot audit your supply chain.
At Tribo, we know the name of the farmer who harvested each lot. That is not a marketing angle — it is what your quality team will ask for when the audit comes.
How the supply chain works
Floodplain harvest
Family farmers from our partner cooperatives harvest açaí from palms in the floodplains of Igarapé-Miri. The town is known as the World Capital of Açaí — not as a slogan, but for its concentration of native açaí palms and its long tradition of forest management.
Extraction and processing
The pulp is extracted and frozen to -18°C at a partner processing facility under an implemented HACCP protocol, on the same day as harvest — with no added water, preservatives or colorings. Total solids are reached naturally through fruit selection and the extraction process.
Testing and COA per production lot
Before any lot leaves, it undergoes microbiological and physicochemical testing at a third-party laboratory, the Multi-Analysis Laboratory of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). The certificate of analysis states the lot number, production date and the parameters tested.
Shipping with compliance documentation
Shipped to your logistics point with the product held at -18°C. Each delivery comes with the invoice, lot COA, technical data sheet, certifications and traceability record — ready for your goods-receiving and supplier approval processes.
Farmer and extractivist cooperatives of Igarapé-Miri
Cooperatives such as CAEPIM organize the family farmers who supply our chain. We do not buy on the spot market — we work directly with the cooperative, with volumes and delivery windows agreed in advance.
That direct relationship is what makes real traceability possible. Every sack of açaí that enters processing carries a farmer’s name and harvest date. The spot market cannot offer that.
